Kagura is the one of the most competitive and athletic of the schoolgirls, rivaled only by Sakaki and Tomo. Kagura has somewhat of a late entry into league with the other schoolgirls, only being put into their class when year two begins. She spends most of the time she has focusing on the swim team, which is responsible for her iconic tan lines. Her ability in athleticism is only rivaled by Sakaki, who is naturally athletic unlike Kagura who devotes much of her life to the pursuit of athleticism. Kagura’s competitive spirit is rivaled by Tomo and the two constantly bicker with each other, though they can find the time to agree with each other. This competitiveness and lack of attention to school work places her as one of the three Knuckleheads. Though she made a late entry into prominence, Kagura’s personality and physical prowess makes her a standout character in the show.
